It's that time of year again--FANCY DRESSES (aka Awards) Season
One of my favorite parts of winter is that it's fancy dress season for fancy people! Golden Globes were last night and the dresses did not disappoint, or well, some of them did. Which is how it goes. HENCEFORTH, all Dress Talk, including the pictures, yay!, will be found on my TUMBLR. 'Cause it's just x1,000,000 easier.
In other news--the hours are counting down on the giveaway! 2 copies, almost 1,000 requests right now.
TOMORROW, head back here for the chance at one of 5 digital copies.

Kreativ Thanks
Last week I was graciously offered a Kreativ Blogger Award. Many thanks to Adam Gaylord, the interesting guy who plays words with ungulates.
Here's the stuff you're supposed to do:
1. Thank and link back to the person who nominated you.
2. Answer the ten questions below.
3. Share ten random facts/thoughts about yourself.
4. Nominate seven worthy blogs for the Kreativ Blogger Award.
And here's what I'm going to do: 1 & 2. Maybe I'll come back to 3 at some point. The first stuff is like what I used to love about Myspace--all the silly surveys! (Remember when you went on Myspace?!) I'm going to beg off the nominating though, because I really just don't do that stuff. I'm lame, and tagging is just not for me. If you're reading this, please know that I think you're awesomely Kreativ and I offer you the award. Feel free to take the survey!
Without further ado, all the random you ever wanted to know about me...
What's your favorite song?
I don't have one favorite this-is-my-favorite-song-ever song. Here's a current song obsession though:
Hoping to get to see them at the Newport Folk Festival this year.
What's your favorite desert?
Another glass of wine.
What ticks you off?
People who brake for no reason on the highway. And the Westboro Baptist Church.
What do you do when you're upset?
Sleep it off. A new day usually brings a new perspective.
Which is your favorite pet?
I love my pets equally. Here's evidence that they love us too, or at least tolerate our human foolishness for treats:
Which do you prefer, black or white?
I love them both equally. When in doubt, which is pretty much always, I wear one or the other. Much like my wardrobe, my current WIP features the entire grayscale heavily.
What is your biggest fear?
The older I get, the more I fear harm befalling the people I love.
What is your attitude mostly?
Um. I'm an optimistic realist.
What is perfection?
This weekend it was Saturday night, sitting under the Big Dipper with a warm fire, a cold beer, and my husband.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Romance books. Though I don't really feel guilty about that.

Outta town
I'm visiting Denver for the week, while my DH and his company rock DrupalCon, so I'm doing a lot of eating out, and not writing, but let's focus on the good stuff :) The highly recommendable places I've been so far:
Marlowe's- on the 16th St mall, great charcuterie plates and $2.50 drafts of local brews during the day
Lou's Food Bar- unassuming exterior, a-mazing menu and wonderful staff, plus locally distilled liquor choices and in-house cheeses
Lucky Pie- super delicious fresh pizzas and a load of taps
&
Sweet Cow Ice Cream- salted caramel flavor and my daughter will have one of these very soon!
Panzano- divine upscale Italian with a generous wine flight option
Snooze- a luxurious breakfast treat (and my favorite so far!)

It's called FUN
Or, Why I Bother.
I write romances. With some other stuff mixed in.
For teenagers. Or anyone.
With girl characters I hope you'll love and guy characters I hope you'll fall in love with too.
And it is FUN.
I'm not trying to change minds or the world and I don't expect my stories to. I don't expect them to win awards or garner critical praise. I expect they will receive some derogatory remarks and turned-down noses along the way. And that's all A-O.K.
'Cause I do this for fun. And it is. A LOT.
I <3 fun and you should too.
