Another last-minute Thankful Thursday, and one I'm not likely to repeat, but today I am thankful for: the rain!

Because during a whole week of just me and the kid, it means I have not had to worry about watering my husband's garden.Thank you, rain, for saving our produce!

On an overall less than awesome day, today I'm thankful for: my daughter singing


She's small still, so it's only her first attempts at singing, but they're great. She tried out Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star in the morning, and then at bath time, she tried singing a song from kids' music hour that she didn't seem at all interested in while we were there. Even when it seems like they're not listening, they are. Today it made for a nice surprise!

I almost missed this today! Know why? My mom arrived for a visit! So, today, and every day, I'm thankful for: my momma (hi, mom!)

It's a wonderful feeling to know that sometimes when a door closes, there's another one, or maybe even a perfectly sized window you can crawl through, that opens instead.

Today, I'm thankful for: every single minute with my dogs

A friend had to say goodbye to one of her dogs tonight. Their lives are short but make ours so full.

Today, I'm thankful for: SUNSHINE

Because right now is the first time I've seen even a little bit of it in what feels like weeks, and it's always such a pick-me-up. :)

Today I'm thankful for: safe travels!

As I am every time I reach a destination safely. Daughter and I had an uneventful (but windy!) drive (350 miles) to Grandma's house today, and husband arrived safely from his business trip as well. Happy to be all safe and sound together.

Today I'm thankful for: my wood stove.

Heating with wood is a lot of work, but even on single-digit days like today, it's roasty-toasty in here.
